Awakenings is a story about the magical (and not so magical) moments when we wake up. But at the same time the film is about the mental awakening of our protagonists.

The story revolves around three couples, who have just begun their relationship, are about to end it, or never really neither began nor finished it. Robert has just divorced and moved to his own place. Soon his student and lover Jana moves in with him, although not entirely by his will. Jana quickly establishes her own way at home and Robert finds himself in a situation he doesn’t know how to control. An established photographer Marcel finds out that his wife Ula got her pictures screened at a very important festival. As usual, he performs one of his typical cynical/sarcastic tantrums – but Ula doesn’t respond to his methods anymore. Slowly (and painfully) the power shift in this relationship is tearing them apart. Jonas and Karmen meet at Marcelo’s exhibition after 20 years. Their high-school flames burn once again, so they find themselves in a hotel room. They spend the night talking and sharing their old feelings and resentments. Nevertheless, with the morning comes the moment of sobriety – Karmen returns to her family. In the last couple of scenes, our characters experience a whirlwind of emotions and situations that finally brings them all at the same place. But what is real and what is just a performance?

Poetični in globoko osebni dokumentarec Marka Kumerja Murča in Nine Cijan je nežna ljubezenska zgodba med prebivalci Šoštanja in njihovim počasi ugašajočim mestom. / This poetic and deeply personal documentary is a gentle love story between the residents of Šoštanj and their fading town.

Four different families, each of them with its own pains, hopes, desires and dreams. What’s inherent to all of them is overwhelming presence of the machine, mounted in their city some decades ago. A Thermal Power Plant which was once city’s pride, is now a synonym for political machinations, ecological catastrophe and corruption. A gentle tale of a love relationship between people and their city, slowly burning out.

Peter vs. Harry je enourni dokumentarni portret v Ljubljani živečega nemškega vsestranskega umetnika Petra Braatza. / Peter vs. Harry is a one hour long documentary portrayal of a versatile German artists living in Ljubljana.

A portrayal of Peter Braatz, a German-Slovenian artist, musician, cinematographer, screenwriter and director, who also goes by the name of Harry Rag, though not being sure what ‘harry rag’ actually stands for (apart from being the title of a smash hit by The Kinks). Braatz, who came onto the German punk scene in late 1970s and 1980s as lead singer of S.Y.P.H., is primarly a documentary filmmaker whose works are often misunderstood and rejected. Peter vs. Harry features insightful interviews with Braatz’s colleagues and friends, as well as family members and like-minded people.

Directed by Jure Breceljnik and Rožle Bregarj, this documentary feature film explores the 4000-year-old tradition of Inuit hunters in eastern Greenland, whose unique culture in an unforgiving natural environment is today threatened with extinction.

Le 4500 prebivalcev naseljuje 20.000 km dolgo obalo vzhodne Grenlandije. S prehodom od življenja v popolni osami do neposrednih učinkov in posledic globalizacije. Svet Inuitov se zdaj spreminja s svetlobno hitrostjo.

Only 4500 inhabitants reside on the 20,000km coastline along eastern Greenland, one of the most sparsely populated areas in the world. Untouched by civilisation, this wild environment has inspired one of the most specialised hunting cultures in the world. But faced with the rapid modernisation of the last century, the indigenous Inuit culture that had remained isolated and unchanged for 4000 years, has made dramatic changes and experienced the immediate effects of globalisation.

Mogoče bosta dosegla srečo, ki sta jo Peter in Maruša zaman iskala.

Peter is the dark brooding type. Leading a vacuous, shapeless life, he longs for the ideal woman, while at the same time, half heartedly continuing with his habitual girlfriend, Maruša, who is considerably older, a fact that Peter is quick to point out. As an ageing actress, struggling for parts in her local theatre, she oozes insecurity and breathes uncertainty. Together, they spend their time in the local restaurant, smoking, drinking and trading verbal blows. “I bet you’ll just end up a drunk,” she tells Peter each time. Peter just grins and tells her how old she looks. Compounded by a thankless director who soon shows her the door, Maruša finds her identity being squeezed harder and harder against the wall. To escape, Peter and Maruša dream.
