Alissa Simon je mednarodno uveljavljena filmska kritičarka spletnega medija Variety, ki deluje tudi kot programska sodelavka festivala Palm Springs International Film Festival. Kot članica žirije je sodelovala na številnih največjih filmskih festivalih, med katerimi gre izpostaviti predvsem Venice Film Festival 2013, Göteborg International Film Festival 2012, 67th Cannes Film Festival 2014, Toronto International Film Festival 2015 in Cannes International Film Festival 2017.

Alissa Simon reviews films for the American trade magazine Variety and is senior programmer for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Jugoslav Pantelić 

Jugoslav Pantelić je direktor jugoslovanske kinoteke in umetniški direktor FEST-a – Mednarodnega filmskega festivala v Beogradu. V preteklosti je delal kot novinar, filmski kritik in urednik filmskega programa, deloval pa je tudi kot izvršni direktor televizijskega studia, za katerega je pripravljal ekskluzivne intervjuje z najodmevnejšimi domačimi in mednarodnimi filmskimi avtorji.

Jugoslav Pantelić is director of Yugoslavian Cinematheque and artistic director of FEST – Belgrade International Film Festival. Moreover, he is a journalist and author of major exclusive television interviews done with important international and local names from the film circles.

 

Fridrik Thor Fridriksson 

Fridrik Thor Fridriksson je svojo filmsko kariero začel v zgodnjih osemdesetih letih s serijo eksperimentalnih in dokumentarnih filmov. Leta 1987 je ustanovil The Icelandic Film Corporation, ki je postala najpomembnejša islandska filmska produkcijska hiša. Fridrikssonov mednarodni uspehi so podjetju omogočili sodelovanje z mednarodnimi koprodukcijskimi partnerji, kot sta produkcijska hiša Zentropa, pod katero deluje Lars von Trier in American Zoetrope Francisa Forda Coppole. Njegov film Children of Nature (1991) si je leta 1992 prislužil nominacijo za oskarja za najboljši tujejezični film.

Fridrik Thor Fridriksson started his film making carrier with a series of experimental films and documentaries in the early 1980s. In 1987, he founded The Icelandic Film Corporation, which has become Iceland’s most important production company, producing Fridrikssons films as well as working with other Icelandic directors and producers. Through Fridriksson’s international reputation the company has built a network of internationally well-established co-production partner companies, including Lars von Triers Zentropa and most recently, Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope. As a director, Fridriksson gained international recognition and critical acclaim with his second feature Children of Nature (1991) which was nominated for an Oscar as Best Foreign Language Film.

Mila Turajlić 

Mila Turajlić je režiserka dokumentarnih filmov, ki se je v svet filma prebila z dokumentarnim filmom Cinema Komunisto. Svetovno premiero je film doživel na filmskem festivalu IDFA, po svetu pa je uspel osvojiti 16 prestižnih filmskih nagrad, med katerimi gre izpostaviti predvsem nagrado Gold Hugo na Chicago International Film Festivalu 2011 in FOCAL za ustvarjalno uporabo arhivskih posnetkov. S svojim zadnjim filmom Druga stran vsega (Druga strana svega, 2017) je naredila zgodovinski korak za srbsko sodobno kinematografijo, film pa je na festivalu IDFA osvojil nagrado za najboljši film. Kot mentorica vodi delavnice samoprodukcije na Balkanskem dokumentarnem centru v Bolgariji, ter delavnice za ustvarjalno uporabo arhivskih posnetkov pri Archidocu (La Fémis, Francija). Kot gostujoča predavateljica je predavala na UCL univerzi v Londonu, na univerzi Sorbonne v Parizu, Univerzi Michigan, ter na ameriških univerzah Yale in Harvard.

Mila Turajlić is a documentary filmmaker born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Mila’s debut documentary film is Cinema Komunisto, premiered at IDFA and the Tribeca Film Festival, and went on to win 16 awards including the Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2011, and the FOCAL Award for Creative Use of Archival Footage. Her most recent film The Other Side of Everything was premiered at the Toronto IFF in 2017, and went on to win 20 awards including the prestigious IDFA Award for Best Documentary Film. The film was HBO Europe’s first co-production with Serbia, and had a record-breaking theatrical release. Mila teaches workshops in self-producing at the Balkan Discoveries (by Balkan Documentary Center, Bulgaria) and on archive use in creative documentaries at Archidoc (by La Fémis, France). She has been a guest lecturer at UCL (London), Sorbonne (Paris), University of Michigan, Yale and Harvard.

 

Varja Močnik

Varja Močnik je končala študij filmske in TV režije na ljubljanski AGRFT, ki je po študiju skoraj desetletje delala na nacionalni televiziji in v okviru RTV posnela tudi svoj prvi celovečerec Bankirke (2007), ki ga opisuje kot »film o dolgčasu«. Naslednji celovečerni film je posnela celo desetletje kasneje, a film Glasba je časovna umetnost 2, LP film Buldožer: Pljuni istini u oči (2017) ji je na 20. Festivalu slovenskega filma prinesel nagrado vesna za najboljši dokumentarni film. Danes dela kot urednica filmskega programa za Slovensko Kinoteko, ter kuratorka filmskega programa na festivalu Kino Otok – Isola Cinema, v delovanje katerega je vpeta že od njegovih začetkov.

Varja Močnik graduated from film and TV directing at AGRFT Ljubljana, and dedicated her life to film. For several years, she worked as an assistant, tone or image recorder and editor for various programmes on national TV channel. Varja soon began with translating and writing texts about film, and started participating in Slovenian Cinematheque. Since the begining of the festival Kino Otok, she has been participating in various roles, in recent years as the program editor and film selector. Lately, she has been working as program editor in Slovenian Cinematheque.

 

Harold Apter

Harold Apter je večkrat nagrajeni televizijski scenarist, režiser, producent in predavatelj. Kot scenarist je zaslužen za številne ameriške televizijske oddaje, med katerimi najdemo tudi Star Trek: Next Generation, Walker, Texas Ranger in The Golden Girls. O pisanju scenarija za televizijo je predaval na USC School of Cinematic Arts, Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts in FAMU v Pragi na Češkem. Trenutno je izvršni producent in glavni scenarist za The Lynching, osem-epizodno dramsko serijo za Češko televizijo in mrežo ARTE v Franciji in Nemčiji.

Harold Apter is an award winning writer, producer, director and educator. He has written for many U.S. television shows including Star Trek: Next Generation, Walker, Texas Ranger, and The Golden Girls. He has taught writing for screen and television at USC School of Cinematic Arts, Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts and FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic. Currently, he is the show runner for The Lynching, an original eight-episode drama series for Czech Television and the ARTE network in France and Germany.
