V Kranjski Gori bo pod njegovim mentorstvom izvedena delavnica dokumentarnega filma.

Germano Maccioni is a film professional from Italy, who has been an integral part of documentary film community ever since 2008, when his debut short got a screening at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. His eclectic film opus mainly consists of short films, and is dealing with every possible subject, from discovering the jazz scene in Bologna, to quiet observations of Italian prisons. Yet it was not until his first fictional debut feature The Asteroids (2017) got into the competition programme of Locarno Film Festival that his name got associated with the biggest contemporary European filmmakers.

The documentary film workshop at this year’s Kranjska Gora International Film Festival (KGIFF) will be executed under his devoted mentorship. By mixing observational exercises and narrative techniques, the participants will try to obtain knowledge of film theory, of how to form a story and how to stay true to documentary ethics. Workshop’s focus will be on differentiation between the interview and a film dialogue, and on what a role of the director is when introducing a film subject into the film; how do we get them to open up and become a part of the film narrative, without them being too aware of the camera, film crew and of the fact they are being filmed.

“Fedele alla linea” Official Trailer

Early submissions to the workshop that cost 100€ per person are accepted until July 15th – all students, self-employed individuals who work in culture, retirees and unemployed people, however, get a 20% discount off the full price. Apart from the workshop, the accommodation at the festival’s camp and an accreditation that allows you to attend all of film screenings is also included into the price.
